Who We Are
Family-owned, woman-owned, and 100% local
Careful Movers, Inc. started out as a senior relocation company, with a mission of easing one of the hardest transitions a family goes through: helping seniors move from independent living into assisted living communities. Doing that job right meant holding ourselves to higher standards than a typical moving company — hiring kind, patient people, checking every background, and never handing your move off to a subcontractor.
It turned out that everything that makes a great senior transition company makes an extraordinary full-service moving company. More than twenty years later, Careful Movers is still run by the Gomez family, and those same standards apply whether we're moving a grandmother's china cabinet or a family of four across town.
Because we care
In the summer of 2017, at a routine moving consultation, we sat with a young mother battling lung cancer who had no choice but to move with her son into her mom's home. Our team made a decision together: we donated our time and moved her for free. We want our community to know we truly do care.

How much will my move cost?
Every move is different, so we don't guess at a number online. Moving services are charged per hour, rates vary by which services you need, and there are NO hidden fees. Do you charge for an in-home estimate?
Not at all. Our residential movers offer in-home assessments in San Antonio free of charge, and setting one up commits you to nothing.
Can you move big items — pianos, safes, grandfather clocks?
Of course! Our movers are trained to move especially large items carefully. An additional fee may apply for items like these — we'll tell you up front during your free estimate.
Do you provide boxes and packing materials?
We can provide boxes in various sizes for an additional cost per box — and once the move is done, they're yours to keep. We also provide moving crates at no cost for the duration of your move; free crates just need to be returned when we're finished.
Can your movers take furniture apart and reassemble it?
Yes — our crews bring the tools to disassemble and reassemble your furniture. Let us know what you have when you book and we'll come prepared.
How do I know I can trust the crew in my home?
